Jupiter/Tequesta/Palm Beach Gardens Homes Are Selling Now - Don't Wait to Buy

Despite national and global tempests, Florida’s real estate market is entering 2012 on an uphill trend, according to prominent U.S. economists.  Florida’s existing sales are
up 13% compared to last year while national existing home sales are only up 1.4%.  Locally, prices have pretty much stablized and are starting to increase.  Waiting to purchase may mean you will pay higher prices than if you buy today.

“Our state is in a mini-recovery,” said Florida Realtors® Chief Economist Dr. John Tuccillo. “Sales are trending up, listing inventories are falling, the supply of lender-related properties has stabilized, and we are seeing multiple offers on homes in some local markets.” In fact, according to him Florida homes today may be undervalued; if a buyer plans to own the home for five to seven years he or she can get some great bargains today.

“Florida’s economy is recovering, with tourism and healthcare leading the way,” and South Florida’s economy is growing thanks to trade relationships with Latin America and the Caribbean according to Mark Vitner, senior economist at Wells Fargo in Charlotte, N.C.  A number of today’s home buyers in South Florida hail from these areas.

Dr. Lawrence Yun, chief economist for the National Association of Realtors®, said many Florida markets are showing sharp drops in inventories of homes for sale – a sign that demand is picking up and prices are stabilizing. This is very true in the Jupiter/Tequesta/Palm Beach Gardens areas. Noting the state’s powerful appeal to international buyers, Yun said he was particularly optimistic about the outlook for South Florida and expects to see a gain in home prices in south Florida in the next 18 months.

Smart-Money Magazine, November 2011, has named  Jupiter Florida one of the best places in which to live or retire.

Jupiter FL is on the Atlantic Ocean (east) side of Florida on the Gold Coast a/k/a Palm Beach County. The Smart-Money article highlighted that Jupiter has unspoiled beaches,  warm climate, golfing opportunities galore, and shopping with the cost of living about half of that of affluent Naples on the Gulf Coast of Florida.   Our local regional theater, Maltz Jupiter Theater, will be celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2012 and expects to put on 10 productions – drama, comedy and musicals.  World class shopping is nearby– Worth Avenue in posh Palm Beach and the Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens.  The article goes on to point out that Jupiter has a lower unemployment rate that most of Florida with such diverse opportunities as those found at the Roger Dean Stadium, the location of spring training for both the St. Louis Cardinals and the Florida Marlins, and biotech companies such as Scripps Research institute and the Max Planck Society. In past years Reliance Relocation Services, Inc. (RELO®)  said that Jupiter was the second hottest relocation destination in the country when it viewed 2004 statistics. In 2005 Jupiter was named in the top 10 Florida communities for families with children by Dr. Andrew Schiller, a specialist in American demographics and creator of the NeighborhoodScout and were based upon analyzing various governmental data.
